It debuted and peaked at #35 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and #8 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Kid ‘n Play’s 1988 single “Rolling with Kid ‘n Play” is sampled on “Livin’ it Up”.

Three more singles have been released since then, all with accompanying videos. The album cover is simple but effective. Skylar (I presume?) in a bra, heels and see-through skirt leaning on a washer and dryer with an ax in front of her. Now, the ax should throw me off, but I’m dumb so I’ll bite. Not sure I have enough Advil to deal with that splitting headache, but I’ve had worse. Thanks, Four Loko.

X by Chris Brown

“It’s the Roman numeral for 10. 5/5/89 is my birthday: 5 plus 5 is 10, and this is my tenth year since I got into music. ‘X’ is the 24th letter in the alphabet, and I will turn 24 when this album comes out. ‘X’ is also a metaphor, as in ‘ex-girlfriend’: it implies you’re progressing and moving on in life, not holding on to the past and your old ways.”

The album’s lead single, “Fine China“, was released to digital retailers on April 1, 2013 and peaked at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100.
